Independent Advisory Group on Forests, Rights and Climate Change

On March 25-26 2012, Andy White and Jeffrey Hatcher (RRI) presented the outline of an independent policy paper on land tenure issues requested by the Policy Board during its previous meeting.

The Policy Board meeting took place at the Granados Park Hotel in Asunción, Paraguay.

On 13 October 2011, Jutta Kill (FERN) delivered a presentation titled Rights‐based Financing for Forests and Climate. In response to this presentation, the Policy Board requested the development of an independent policy paper on land tenure issues.

The Policy Board meeting took place at the Steigenberger Hotel in Berlin, Germany.

Comments on the “Guidelines on Stakeholder Engagement in REDD+ Readiness with a Focus on the Participation of Indigenous Peoples and Other Forest-Dependent Communities” have been submitted to the World Bank.  They were compiled by members of the Independent Advisory Group on Forests, Rights and Climate Change – Forests Peoples Program and Rainforest Foundation Norway.  The comments can be downloaded from the Resources page.
